White subway tile around a kitchen hood
Glossy white subway tile runs beneath the cabinets and rises around the kitchen hood. Staggered grout joints connect the counter runs, while the hood’s wood-tone lower band adds contrast to the pale tile and cabinets.

The project in pictures
Running-bond tile across the kitchen wall
Horizontal rectangular tiles form staggered courses along the backsplash. The glossy faces catch the room’s light, while the pale grout keeps the repeating pattern subtle. Wider photographs show the same layout extending from the counters toward the ceiling beside the hood.
The hood and cabinet edges
The white hood enclosure projects from the tiled wall above the cooking area, with a wood-tone band along its lower edge. Tile courses meet its sides and continue beneath the adjacent wall cabinets. For a similar backsplash, plan the hood position, cabinet edges and visible end cuts together.
Counter corners and installation details
Closer photographs follow the backsplash into the counter corner and show its relationship to the pale veined countertop. The sequence also records different finishing stages: some outlet covers are fitted in the close view, while exposed fittings, ceiling wiring and protective tape remain visible in wider views.
