The project in pictures
Square tile and a straight grid
The square tile faces line up in horizontal and vertical rows. Their reflective surfaces and small shade changes give the pale field more texture than a flat painted wall. Wider and closer photographs show the grout-joint pattern across the counter run.
Tile between the cabinets
The central tile field rises above the lower backsplash between two wall cabinets. Along the counter, the same grid continues beneath the cabinet edges and around three outlet openings. Cover plates are not fitted in the installation views.
Planning a similar backsplash
With a square grid, the cabinet edges, outlets and counter line all affect where the cuts fall. Consider those boundaries together when choosing the tile format and layout. These photographs show the installed tile before the remaining fittings are finished.
