Mosaic stone kitchen backsplash
A bare backsplash wall becomes an interlocking mosaic of small rectangular pieces, bringing texture to the space between the counters, window and wood cabinets.
- Interlocking rectangular mosaic
- Tile around a kitchen window
- Backsplash beneath wall cabinets
The project in pictures
Before the tile
The first views show the wall with the previous backsplash removed and the counters protected for work. The window, inside corner and electrical outlets divide the wall into several areas, each visible in the comparison.
Pattern across the wall
The mosaic combines larger horizontal rectangles with narrow vertical pieces. Its cream and gray tones sit alongside the pale counters and warm wood cabinets. The same pattern continues beneath the cabinets and around the window opening.
The installation shown
The later views show the tile in place, including cuts at the outlets and window edges. For a similar backsplash, consider the mosaic alongside your cabinets and counters, then plan how its repeating pattern will meet each outlet and inside corner.
