The project in pictures
Veined tile around the tub alcove
The wall tiles run horizontally, with staggered grout joints across the alcove. Gray and warmer markings give each rectangular tile a different pattern. Wider photographs show the surround meeting the white tub, while closer angles record the tile faces and inside corners.
Working the layout around a window
A wide sliding window breaks the back wall into tiled bands above, below and beside the opening. The photographs show the cuts at the frame and how the horizontal tile courses continue across the wall. For a similar surround, consider the window edges, fixture positions and corner cuts together before setting the layout.
A lighter floor within the room
Pale rectangular floor tiles run in an offset pattern beside the white vanity and toilet. Their quieter markings distinguish the floor from the more strongly veined surround. The room view connects these surfaces with the white tub and chrome shower head, control and tub spout.
