Veined fireplace tile with an illuminated hearth
Pale veined facing wraps this fireplace beneath a dark mantel. A dark projecting ledge and warm light beneath it define the hearth, while wider photographs show the feature against a tall paneled wall.

The project in pictures
Veining around the fireplace opening
Fine gray and warm-toned veins cross the pale facing around the black glass-front opening. Close photographs show how the facing turns onto the side of the projecting surround and continues down the hearth base. The earlier detail views retain wall-finishing work and floor protection, while later room views show the surrounding finishes in place.
A dark ledge with light beneath
The dark hearth ledge projects beyond the lighter base, creating a strong horizontal edge. Warm light beneath the ledge washes across the veined facing below. A matching dark mantel repeats the contrast above the fireplace opening. For a similar tile feature, consider the side returns, ledge projection and how illumination will reveal the surface pattern.
From surface detail to the wider room
The overview places the tiled fireplace beneath a tall white paneled wall beside large windows. A straight-on photograph and a view from the upper landing show its proportions from different distances. Together with the close-ups, these views connect the facing pattern, dark edges and lit base with the scale of the room.
